Kyle Krause, Rapid City Attorney Profile

I grew up on a small farm in northern Iowa before attending Iowa State University. After graduating from Iowa State in 2005, I worked at a residential treatment facility for children with mental and emotional problems for a little over a year before entering law school.  I married my wonderful wife while in law school, and she introduced me to the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. We moved to Rapid City after completing our educations in 2009.  I opened The Law Office of Kyle Krause in 2009 and have focused on practicing family law ever since.

I have long had an interest in children’s issues.  I obtained a work-study job as a tutor while at Iowa State, was a mentor for about six years, and worked in a residential treatment facility for children.  I represented children as part of Drake’s highly regarded Children’s Rights Clinic, and I have served as the President of the Western South Dakota Child Protection Council.  I have also been a board member of the South Dakota Lions Foundation, which helps screen for vision issues tens of thousands of South Dakota children annually.  I assist children in my practice by representing them in court proceedings, helping those seeking to adopt, and by helping the parents negotiate custody agreements that are in their children’s best interests.

In my free time, I enjoy the many outdoor activities the Black Hills area has to offer, including golfing, fishing, and hiking. I also enjoy following my favorite sports teams, especially those of the Iowa State Cyclones.
